Inspired by Seesaw Connect 2025 session on Podcasts as Inspiration: Sprouting Young Writers with Student-Created Audio by Lindsey Davis! Use this teacher edition template to model your own reflective storytelling and create a playlist of episodes for students to listen to. The goal is to inspire reluctant writers to write more and tell their own stories. Use these episode ideas or create your own! Episode 1: Brave Little Taste-Tester- The Story: Talk about a time you sat down for dinner and saw something on your plate that looked "different." The Question: What is a new food you have tasted? How did it taste? Would you eat it again? Episode 2- A Helping Hand The Story: Tell a story about a time someone did something small for you that made you feel happy. The Question: Who is someone who makes you feel happy? What did they do that was helpful or kind? Episode 3- My Favorite Smell The Story: Talk about a smell that reminds you of a person or a place you love. The Question: If you could capture your favorite smell in a jar, what would it be? When you smell it, what does it remind you of? Episode 4- A Talking Animal The Story: Write about your favorite animal or pet. Imagine what it would say if it could talk. The Question: Think about an animal you know. If that animal could talk to you, what do you think it would say? Story ideas and questions were written with the support of a generative AI tool.
