This activity is designed to reinforce students' understanding of homophones and homographs through a Thanksgiving-themed context. Part 1 focuses on homophones, where students select the correct word based on sentence meaning. Part 2 introduces homographs, asking students to identify and write different meanings of the same spelled word in different sentences. Teachers should encourage students to think about context clues to determine meanings. For Part 2, some examples were adjusted for grade-appropriate homographs. Consider discussing the difference between homophones and homographs before starting. Use the activity to prompt discussion about word meanings and usage.
