Odd or Even & What's the Value? A 2-digit game for 2 players 😁😁

Grades: 2nd Grade
Subjects: Math
Standards: Determine whether a group of objects (up to 20) has an odd or even number of members, e.g., by pairing objects or counting them by 2s; write an equation to express an even number as a sum of two equal addends. (2.OA.3.), Read and write numbers to 1000 using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. (2.NBT.3.)

Student Instructions

Materials: You each need your whiteboard, marker, and eraser. You will also need a die 🎲 to share. Directions: The player with less letters in his or her name goes first! Roll your die 🎲 and move that many spaces. Tell and write the value of the underlined digit. Partner checks. Score: 1 point if you are correct. Score 1 more point if your number is odd. Score 2 more points if your number is even!

Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

NBT.3 - Knows value of digits in a 2-digit number. OA.3 - Odd & even numbers Students need: paper or whiteboard for writing value and one die. There are 4 game pieces at the top of the board to use. Great to use in GoMath! Chapter 1 or as reinforcement anytime!
