Teacher Notes (not visible to students)
This activity practices reading fluency and comprehension using a short, familiar story. Page 1 captures students reading aloud for teacher review or automatic fluency scoring. Pages 2–4 include auto-graded comprehension items that check recall, sequence, and vocabulary in context. Pages 5–6 invite creative, open responses for manual grading. Use this activity in small groups or individually. For the multimedia task, ensure devices have camera or microphone access. For the open-ended paragraph question, look for answers that name story details and explain thinking (for example, a strong answer will say which brother did each task and why they waited). For the multimedia prompt, a high-quality response shows the cake or a drawing and explains choices with clear sentences or recorded speech. Provide supportive prompts for students who need help organizing sentences.
